Key Motivation
Winding through the heart of The Kingdom of Liekia, the Matawu River flows wide and deep. From the high banks, the rushing water fills the air with a deep, endless murmur, carrying the damp, muddy scent of riverbeds mixed with pine and fresh foam. Broad barges and laden cargo skiffs drift past in a steady stream, their creaking timbers and shouting crews echoing across the water.
As the current pushes toward the coast, the water broadens significantly, sweeping past stone docks and timber pilings where the salt-crusted towers of Skalan rise to meet the waters of Emberde Bay.
