Hirim Bay

A stretch of quiet coastal shallows, Hirim Bay is defined by its vast, shimmering network of broad salt pans that sweep across the low-lying shorelines. Under cold, pale skies, shallow pools of seawater sit trapped within wide stone basins, catching the crisp atmosphere and freezing over into clean sheets of ice.
The surrounding landscape is bleak yet striking, marked by mudflats and low coastal cliffs that seal the bay away from the surrounding wilderness. Crisp sea air carries the sharp, mineral scent of ocean salt, while the still waters mirror the stark gray clouds above. Along the edges, earthworks and timber sluice gates slice through the natural shoreline, dividing the gray ocean into precise, reflective squares. The atmosphere is stark, silent, and motionless, defined by the biting chill of the coast and the endless horizons of brine.
