Maslova
Towering, pitch-stained timber walls surround Moslova, giving off the sharp, resinous scent of freshly cut pine mixed with the heavy stench of river mud and chimney smoke. Inside, narrow cobblestone streets hum with the constant clatter of iron-shod wheels and the thunderous, echoing chop of woodcutters’ axes coming from the nearby timber yards.
The chill spray of the Matawu River carries the shouts of barge captains tying up at crowded wooden wharves, where giant logs splash heavily into the rushing water. Broad trade wagons groan under heavy loads along the stone-paved Golden Tread, filling the air with the smell of dry grain and horse sweat. Beyond the formidable wooden palisades and watchtowers, endless emerald forest canopies press against golden fields of wheat, creating a sharp contrast between the raw wilderness and the bustling noise of the kingdom’s greatest frontier stronghold.
